Every once in a while, a senior reaches out to plan senior photos and you just know the session is going to be magic. That’s exactly how it felt when Sienna, a senior at Austin High, and her mom contacted me. We started our session at Commons Ford, where the soft, golden light and wild textures instantly set the tone, calm, effortless, and full of that natural Austin beauty I love so much.
Then she mentioned that Commodore Perry Estate held a special meaning for her family… and I’m pretty sure my photographer heart did a full happy dance.
Commodore Perry isn’t just any location, it’s an exclusive, historic, European-inspired estate tucked right in the middle of Austin. Dreamy golden light, formal gardens, soft architectural tones, arched walkways, that Italian-Renaissance charm… it’s basically a Vogue editorial waiting to happen.
And Sienna? She didn’t just fit the setting — she owned it.
Senior Photos Day One: Commons Ford Ranch Golden Glow
We kicked off her session at Commons Ford Ranch, one of my all-time favorite natural-light locations in Austin. The tall grasses, the open fields, the soft warm tones, it's everything a senior photographer could dream of.
Sienna brought such effortless elegance to every frame. She has that rare combination of quiet confidence with a spark of joyful, sunshine-y energy that makes the whole session feel like hanging out with your favorite person. Every time she stepped into the light, it was like the golden hour decided to show off just for her.
Senior Photos Day Two: Commodore Perry Estate Perfection
The next day, we took things up a level and explored the breathtaking grounds of the Commodore Perry Estate.If you’ve never been, here’s a little peek into what makes it so special: Lush garden pathways... Historic European architecture,,, Soft green + gold tones everywhere... Quiet luxury and exclusivity... he feeling of stepping into a modern-day fairytale.
For Sienna and her family, Commodore Perry is meaningful - so capturing this chapter of her life in a place tied to her story made the session even more powerful. She moved through the estate with such grace and ease, like she’d been meant to be photographed there her entire life. Every corner of that property is pure art… and so is she.
Sienna’s Energy, Heart, and Style
I truly can’t put into words how incredible Sienna was to photograph. She has a maturity beyond her years, but also the sweetest, most genuine spirit. She came prepared, she trusted the vision, she embraced every moment, and the camera absolutely adored her. She radiated beauty in that quiet, classic, “she’s going to do amazing things with her life” kind of way.
